got some restaurant recommendations from a coworker today:
So jealous that you’re headed to Argentina! Loved Buenos Aires. Pretty much spent a week wandering all around the city. Tons of great neighborhoods to explore and amazing and cheap shopping (esp leather)/eating/drinking. Stayed in Palermo Soho which was a really fun neighborhood. Some of my favorite restaurants:
Italian - Palermo - Guido's Bar (República de la India 2843; 54-11-4802-2391) - It's really small and popular, so you need reservations. They just ask you if you want red or white wine and then they bring you plate after plate of amazing Italian food.
Steaks - Palermo Soho - La Cabrera (Cabrera 5099; 54-11-4831-7002) - HUGE steaks and great sides that come out before the steaks and could make a meal.
Modern Argentine - Palermo Soho - Bar Uriarte (Uriarte 1572; 54-11-4834-6004)
In general, super good gelato and at breakfast every morning at random cafes (tres medialunas, café con leche).
In Mendoza, went on a couple of wine tours and river rafting. Ate at an amazing restaurant: Mallman 1884. Sorta out of town and expensive for Argentina but insane food and famous chef.
